ChescaMade:

unique and exceptionally beautiful furniture, upcycled in Devon

Forget flat pack furniture and storage and give your interior décor a revamp by opting for something incredibly rare and distinctive with ChescaMade: my personal range of up-cycled furniture. These one-off pieces add the beautiful and uniquely-artistic finishing touches to your home or office décor - as well as making fabulous and very well-received gifts for your friends and relatives.

Up-cycling is a term used to describe the process of taking something old and unwanted and turning it something delectably different – giving it a whole new lease of life to prevent the original item being discarded. Originally coined by environmentalists who wanted to reduce the amount of old furniture being sent to landfill; up-cycling it now widely-popular, as more and more people now seek out one-off pieces of furniture and storage, which evoke memories of days gone by – with a new and improved appearance and a thoroughly modern edge.

Using my background in fine art and design; I regularly select interesting pieces of furniture and painstakingly refine and restore each piece using Annie Sloan chalk paint. Annie Sloan paint is extremely popular in the world of interior décor and furniture restoration, due to the superb quality of the paint and the excellent coverage the custom-made formulations offer. Annie herself is a hugely influential interior designer and her range of paints is available in a stunning range of colours – all inspired by the very latest interior design trends.

Once I have restored each piece using the chalk paint: I then spray paint designs from my original fine art drawings onto the furniture – to create an absolutely stunning finished piece, which will amaze and delight your friends and relatives and create an arresting visual display- and focal point - in your home.
